Where They’re Headed: Chris Flores ‘13

In a new installment of a continuing Haverblog series about the post-graduation plans of the Class of 2013, Chris Flores talks about training with the Nashville Ballet’s pre-professional second company, NB2.

In the fall, dance major Chris Flores ’13 will begin training with the Nashville Ballet’s pre-professional second company, NB2. NB2 functions as an intensive training program, preparing dancers for a professional career in dance while providing them with performance opportunities and access to the School of Nashville Ballet.

As a member of NB2, Flores will train with the company daily, perform in professional productions, and participate in the Nashville Ballet’s wide variety of outreach programs. “A typical day will include a couple technique classes, a few rehearsals and an outreach performance,” said Flores.
While being able to participate in Bryn Mawr College’s dance program was an important selling point for Flores in deciding to attend Haverford, he did not anticipate himself majoring in dance. “I didn’t go to Haverford thinking I would pursue dance as a career,” he says. “But over the four years it became clear this is what I wanted to do.”
